Available Types of Penile Implants

When you have an ED and are convinced to undergo the penile implants, you will need to choose the penile implant which is best for you. There is one that comes with penile implant pump, and one which does not come with it.

There are basically three types of the penile implants:

  • Non-inflatable penile implant
  • Two-piece inflatable penile implant
  • Three-piece inflatable penile implant

You and your doctor will decide to choose one of the types above based on careful assessments on certain variables including the medical history, the devices availability, also the patient’s factors. When it comes to the patient’s factors, you will undergo the physical tests to find out the penis size, overall size of the scrotum, the penile ratio, history of previous penile implant, overall health, and many more. You can also expect to fill the questionnaires to get the data that is needed to find out the best penile implant pump and devices for you.

Each penile implant type comes with perks and downs. Let see them briefly below.

Non-inflatable penile implant

Non-inflatable penile implant is done by the minimal-invasive surgical procedure. Once it is done, the user will need to recover for days even weeks depending on individual’s recovery rate. It is easy to use it for you and your partner. You can simply bend it down and up for the usage.

It is a good option for men who hardly use their hands or have arthritis symptoms. The parts of the devices are implanted inside the body for the full conceal. You will be confident when having activities with this. Since the devices are non-inflatable, it can be a downside for those who are not up to a permanent erection. Amongst the three types of implants, it is least expensive one. But you must consider about the abnormality of your appearance. Since your penis is adjusted for constant erection, you can feel the pain and discomfort.

Two-piece inflatable penile implant

As the name suggests, it comes with two-piece inflatable devices. It is also perfect choice for those who have problems with their dexterity or having arthritis. The two-piece inflatable penile implant is not for everyone. We need to mention that the fluid delivered to the cylinders might result in less rigidity of penis. For some men, it is a problem since some partners prefer more rigid penis. It is also fully concealed in your body. You will notice the unnatural shape of the penis. If you are okay with it, you can give it a go. But consider the side effects: minor pain, discomfort, the unnatural shape, and the thinning of penile flesh.

Three-Piece Inflatable Penile Implant

This type of penile implant proposes the multi-devices implanted in your body. It is also very easy to use this option. You will simply pump the penile implant pump up for procuring the erection. Large amount fluids will be transferred in and out. It has the most rigid result of all the penile implant types. The users will also feel the comfort since it gives the normal look when not in use. Not to mention that the devices are concealed. The penis will also be flaccid so that the users will feel the least pain other than the others.
